Today, our very own Kamiano Council of the Knights of Columbus did a great job cleaning the church grounds as well as surrounding areas. They do this every other Saturday as part of their service to the Church. Not pictured is fellow brother Bob Allen who also painstakingly cut back some of the plants and removed the weeds. And yes that’s Father Lane, a proud member of the council partaking in the fun. Terrific job gentlemen!
Another blessed day of worship. Today at the 10 am Mass, our Hula Halau graced us with their beautiful dance. Also, present were members of Hawaiian royalty societies who worshiped with us and paid tribute to their princess. They received blessings from Fr. Lane Akiona and were recognized by him for remaining steadfast in perpetuating their lineage and the Hawaiian culture. Last but not least, our smiling Alter Rosary Society ladies worked hard to bring fellowship after mass by providing delicious refreshments. Have a blessed and wonderful week everyone! Aloha!!
Māhalo to the Alter Rosary Society for hosting this year’s St. Augustine Christmas Pa’ina. The theme was Hawaiian Country and everyone dressed the part. The day was full of laughter, good food, and celebration! Praise the Lord for bringing us all together. Aloha and God Bless!

Aunty Leimomii Ho's Halau's special thank you to St. Augustine Church By-the-Sea for the support for helping them participate on the 2015 Merrie Monarch Festival. The Halau traveled to Belgium and Italy (Vatican City) on a pilgrimage for the canonization of Blessed Damien. It is rare to capture a hula performance inside a Catholic church. The Honolulu diocese was permitted to adopt this practice from the late 1990s.
